I’ve always been curious about how the world works. Initially I sated this curiosity through science (undergraduate studies; major – Physics, minor – Math), and I then spent the next 25+ years exploring how the world works through the laboratory of my Yoga mat and meditation cushion. I’ve found that both paths have been deep and nourishing, and I recently earned a Ph.D. in Kinesiology at the University of Wisconsin – Madison. The first-hand experiences of embodied practice (Yoga) and contemplative practice (Buddhist meditation) informs my scientific work, and the rigor of the scientific method informs everything that I do.
I’m a member of the Watson Human Performance Lab and a collaborator at the Center for Healthy Minds, where I’m involved with researching mindfulness initiatives for incoming college freshmen & student-athletes.
